‘Tornado’ Freight Experiences – Brake Van Rides
On Friday 10th and Sunday 12th April we will be pairing ‘Tornado’ with a 1960’s Freight Train, and as part of this we are offering Brake Van Rides for a supplementary fare. Where else can you ride behind an A1 Pacific and enjoy the sights and sounds of this iconic engine working hard from a panoramic Brake Van?
During the booking process, you will have the option to add these Brake Van Rides to your booking once you have selected your travel tickets.
Remembering the Somerset & Dorset Railway
During the event we will be pairing together both 34092 ‘City of Wells’ with our guest 34070 ‘Manston’ for some double headed specials – 2026 marks 60 years since the closure of the famous Somerset and Dorset Railway, where it was common to see these Bulleid Pacifics at the head of the ‘Pines Express’ which ran from Manchester to Bournemouth.
