She was the first steam locomotive that was officially recorded at 100 miles per hour\, and a century later she still attracts worldwide attention. \n\n\n\nHer journey has not always been easy – having narrowly escaped being scrapped during the Beeching cuts to multiple ownerships\, global tours and painstaking restorations. \n\n\n\nThrough it all\, Scotsman has remained a beloved part of the country’s heritage. \n\n\n\nThe ELR has been privileged to play a key part in that story\, being the site of Scotsman’s historic restoration.
